Battolyser Systems is looking to recruit a Senior Business Development Manager


As Senior Business Development Manager you develop new business opportunities mostly through partnerships by engaging independently with EPC contractor, project developer, end customer executives and senior governmental officials. You will be the external face of the company, developing strategic long-term relationships that result in portfolio sales. The position is full-time, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer. More specifically, you are responsible for the following:


  • Define the business development strategy for specific international regions and industry sectors based on the Battolyser product offerings
  • Identify the most promising business opportunities and build relationships with key decision makers
  • Develop winning propositions to end customers together with value chain partners, appreciating end customer use cases, overall value chain risks and strategic value to Battolyser Systems
  • Mature these business opportunities through business case modeling, feasibility studies and engineering to final purchase orders
  • Draft and negotiate deal constructs with the risk appreciation for performance guarantees and other liabilities appropriate for the size of Battolyser Systems
  • Represent the company at conferences, industry events and local regulators

We believe that, in order to be successful in this role, you have over 15 years’ experience in international B2B business development in the energy sector. You have a deep understanding of the development of capital projects, their technology choices, commercial negotiation and contracting. You understand the business ways of workings with EPC contractors, energy development companies and governments.


You are self-driven, intrinsically motivated and committed to materialize the overall company vision. You are ‘hands-on’, have a can-do mentality and a results-oriented approach. You have a mix of strong analytical and relational skills to quickly grasp the often versatile complexities of projects and their stakeholders. You have the ability to identify key commercial issues, manage business stakeholders expectations, fluctuating workload and set priorities. You are fluent in English, business savvy and culturally aware.
